siebenbergen isle

The Siebenbergen isle emerged in 1729 as a result of the excavation of the large pool containing the Swan Island. It was adorned by a number of artificial panoramic hills, until these were partially removed at the start of the 19th century and the small island was re-planted and modelled on nature, in the spirit of the landscape garden.

Climatically favourable factors with mild winters allow almost all perennials, ornamental trees, rhododendrons and rare conifers to thrive on Siebenbergen isle. It does not hold its title as the most beautiful flower island in Hesse without good reason.
